Don’t buy a 2in1 Laptop!

Until you read this!

Mobile computing has quite a few dimensions. There are so many options, variations and add-on’s to consider these days. All these add to the experience and give the user some nifty gadgets to consider.

Some people love gadgets, I’m definitely one of those people and others despise the mere concept of technology. There’s nothing more exciting to me like exploring new gadgets, hence the page you are currently on that will give you some insight into my world. This allow you to make some informed decisions without having to spend those hard earned dollars on rubbish. As I have stated in a previous article, when purchasing a mobile computer it’s best to consider your lifestyle first.

2 in 1 laptops are awesomely flexible little things. You definitely get the best of both worlds. On the one hand it’s a straight up corporate notebook used by the executive on the go. Then on the other hand it’s a trendy tablet that will allow you to watch a movie in bed or play the latest addictive craze on the app store. What are the real advantages and disadvantages though… This is what we are really interested in if you are looking to purchase such a device? Another things is, what devices are out there and what am I looking to spend. Below are some great insights and recommendations that will see you on your way.

  • Light and easy to travel with.
  • The keyboard is not always required.
  • Most devices come with a stylus pen.
  • Battery is generally longer lasting than a laptop.
  • Generally uses the same charger as a cellphone.

  • The keyboard tends to drain the battery quite quickly.
  • Easy to forget the keyboard in odd places.
  • Some devices don’t allow the keyboard to be used unattached through Bluetooth.
  • Varying by device, the tablet and keyboard don’t fit well together. This can cause unsightly damage to the screen.
  • Some keyboards don’t have extra ports.

Generally the higher end devices are the better choice for tablet computers. Unlike my laptop recommendations in sticking with the mid range devices when choosing a laptop. If you are considering a tablet PC, then go for the pricier options. The quality is definitely a lot better and worth it in the long run. So what are the options out there and what would I recommend? Firstly you need to decide on which operating system you prefer. Android, IOS, or Windows. Preferably if you are using the device for work purposes I would advise a Windows device. It has all the general applications necessary for the working environment. The beauty of the Windows 10 OS, is that it was designed to bridge the gap between Tablet and PC. This is something Microsoft definitely got right.

Please bear in mind that these are only recommendations. I would encourage

you to read the reviews on these devices before purchasing. My top five choices are:
